Great Sunday

Great news: Robert Kubica (Poland, 23) has won his first F1 Grand Prix (in Canada). Moreover, in the same time another Pole, Lukas Podolski, scored two goals in Euro 2008 match, the first one was assisted by Mirek Klose.

Oh wait, both Podolski and Klose (plus Trochowski) represent Germany in Euro 2008... Anyone tricked? Eye-wink

Of course read this as a joke for people not especially following the "football business". OTOH our striker Ebi was 5 when left to Netherlands. That's post-WWII story. But Roger was 24 when he was "imported" from Brazil - perhaps that's strange sign of globalization...

Yeah, of course I took it as a joke. But let's be honest, it's a difficult topic! I would find it stranger if a player couldn't choose himself where to play. I mean, e.g. Podolski grew up ~20 km from here. It would be mean if he wasn't allowed to play for germany if he wants to. Also, it's basically just lines on a map we're talking about here. Perhaps when we're both 90, we'll see USA playing against Europe. Eye-wink
