nepomuk.kde.org online

trueg's picture

I am proud to announce that finally nepomuk.kde.org went online. A owe a big thank you to pinheiro who not only designed the new Nepomuk icon but also did the webpage layout. I also want to thank Luke Parry who adapted pinheiros design for Drupal. Last but not least Dirk Mueller went through the trouble to actually setup Drupal.

So please check it out and especially take a look at the beefed up documentation section: I wrote a bunch of new tutorials for techbase.

Terms

Hi

All this nepomuk stuff sound really interesting. But even though I regularly read KDE related blogs and things regarding nepomuk I come across, this is all still a bit nebulous to me. Mostly because I don't know whats behind many of the terms used in relation to nepomuk. What is actually a semantic desktop? What is a social semantic desktop? What are ontologies? What is spoprano? What is nepomuk? What is RDF? How does it relate to strigi? Maybe you could put a few sentences describing the bigger picture on your page, for those of us who are still lost in the dark? Smiling

Right

OK, I will do that. For now please see my previous blog which explains a bunch of the terms used frequently.
