SliderView Raptor

last several months have been a hard run, having exams one after the other, but I was able to commit several line now and then for raptor project, this is just one widget that we will use with raptor

one of the main widgets we will have on raptor is the sliderview. it's a very customizable view unlike on kickoff, where it slides left and right, Raptor Slider View is meant to be 100% compatible with Plasma API and not be some widget of it's own. it's very similar to what u would see on a slide show but multiple slides per view. arrangement can differ based on user perf, It will support Stack like view and Grid view just like it was proposed on Appeal Project first by Aaron . the view can be skinned using SVG. at the moment i'm working with pinheiro (Amazing Oxygen Artist) and Nookie (good old Buddy) on the skin elements soon we will get the skin perfect and done. I uploaded a mpeg to ruphy's upload server so if can't compile it. see it here http://upload.ruphy.org/slideicons.mpeg. next step is to float it on plasma and add the True Transparency support to the menu view launcher. that should happen in few days from now.

Raptor vision

It is very difficult to find some new information on the Raptor progress.
I've read http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Plasma/Menu but it is still not clear for me what Raptor will look like.
Could you please post the final (if you already have it) vision of what Raptor will look like? And add some mockups (even simple onces) so that interested people could see what are you working on.

Oxygen team is in the process of mocking how the final menu will look like. it will have a to be along the lines of the whole desktop look. and as Soon as those mocks will be published for User, developer and usability reviews which will get further improvements.
I can give u some hints at this moment

It can be made to look like that the idea is two let the user customize it with XML and Javascript.. we will see

Are this a mockups on yot TOM concept?

I suppose that these are mockups of TOM. Right?
Are you planning to implement any other concept for Raptor menu? Maybe something with tabs like in Kickoff.

TOM component

Task orientation is currently a Google summer of code project so it should be there very soon. the task orientation will come as a two components

a.) Visual Task Editor
b.) Plugin for Raptor that will load the tasks.

all this will be XML driven. so distro authors can ship a default task list as they ship the DVDs'
