KDE 4.0 Alpha 1 has been released, code-named "Knut" (btw my reasoning was: "small but growing and being forgotten soon"). And of course it's accompanied by a new KDE Four Live version and packages for openSUSE. Just keep in mind that it's the first Alpha release which is totally unusable and not representive for KDE 4[.0].

Oxygen widget theme
It might be nice to include the Oxygen widget theme on the live CD.

It's together with the window deco included! Try your luck with "kcmshell kwindecoration" and "kcmshell style". But they are not default yet for a reason...

Thanks for letting me know that the Oxygen widget theme is included on the LiveCD! I was at a loss for how to change styles since the Control Center is not functional, but I'll definitely try "kcmshell".
Error free downloads and multiple mirror listings
I've put up a metalink for this release at http://www.metalinker.org/samples/KDE-Four-Live.i686-0.1.0.iso.metalink
It contains mirrors and full file and partial file checksums (error correction) in an XML file. Try it out with aria2 or other download managers. KGet on this ISO should support metalinks, I'll try it out.

Looks like the KGet on the live cd doesn't work with metalink yet, but I'm told in SVN it does...so next it should be good for the next release.
