[image:1819 align=right]With the upcoming SUSE Linux 10.1 Release Candidate (really, no kidding!) and no further changes allowed for it I thought it was time to release Kerry 0.1 including translations for 18 languages done by the Novell translation teams. The last days I already created a small homepage in the openSUSE wiki and took some new screenshots. The source is now imported into KDE's SVN, right next to the one of knetworkmanager.

Is GNOME a dependency to Kerry?
Obviously Kerry depends on Beagle, but does Beagle depend on any GNOME components? In other words, will I need to install any GNOME libraries in order to use Kerry?

The Beagle daemon doesn't depend on GNOME libraries, the Evolution backend and the standard Beagle GUI do. So it all depends on whether your distribution packages Beagle as one package or does split it up - like SUSE Linux 10.1.

Hmm, these are 2 of the most exciting additions to KDE. And, you announce it with such modesty? The fact that we finally have a "real," almost completely working desktop search is big news.
Beagle may cause indigestion for some, but it's better than nothing. Much better.
