... at the Berlin Open Software Usability Meeting, tomorrow evening, Wed, Dec. 7th, 20.00 h, at the Chaos Computer Club in Berlin, Marienstr. 11.

Back from my wonderful vacation we decided to have a less serious usability session tomorrow, and inspect several everyday things such as cashpoints, metro maps, usb sticks or coffee machines. Along with it, we'll have some Plaetzchen, and possibly Gluehwein *yam*

If you are around, you're welcome to join and show us your especially well or bad designed everyday things Smiling

Doors

What do you think about bringing especially bad designed doors? There are still plenty of them around Smiling

There is a building next to my office where I often go for lunch. Its one of those buildings that probably won a design prize, but if you sat outside long enough you could easily watch people pushing or pulling in the wrong direction because of the awkward style of handles on the door.

The entry way is actually a little better than what it used to be. Currently there is only one set of doors to go through to enter the building because the interior is being remodeled. There used to be two sets of doors to enter before getting to the building. On the outside set of doors, the handles would be on the left side which you would pull. On the inside set of doors, the handles of the door directly in front of you would be on the right side of the door which you would pull. If you were carrying any packages or were following a group of people in to the building it was quite an obstacle to maneuver through this entry way Smiling
