KDE 3.5 Beta 2 has been announced and the full range of testing possibilities is available: My small "Klax" Live-CD has been updated to KDE 3.5 Beta 2 and KOffice 1.4.2. The CD made news on Distrowatch and led to some screenshots on OSdir.com. For building from source the "Unstable KDE" edition of the Konstruct script has been updated. And there are packages for SUSE Linux 10.0 and 9.3 available (packages for 9.2 and 9.1 do also exist and may be uploaded if there is demand and once the KDE mirrors have fetched the current distributions' packages). And of course KDE 3.5 Beta 2 will be also on SUSE Linux 10.1 Alpha 2 which will be published on Thursday.

bug in kdebase3 package?
it seems there is a bug that causes kded from the beta2 packages (SUSE 10.0 final) to use 100% CPU, and I can confirm that this does not happen with the beta1 packages. Have you experienced this bug? I don't know how to work around it as disabling all services does not help. Is this a KDE bug or SUSE bug?

An experimental and obviously unmature patch slipped into the kdelibs package. There are new SUSE 10 kdelibs rpms for i386 and x86_64 together with deltarpms available on ftp.kde.org.

I have the same problem here. suse 10.0 kde - upgraded from 3.4.3 to 3.4.92 (3.5 beta2) x86_64. Konqueror uses 100% as well as amarok. Other apps like kopete are working just fine though.
